The infographic points out that, although companies continue to increase their social media marketing spend, they don’t do a particularly good job at engaging consumers through social media, and they still struggle to determine the return on their investment. Some of the data shared in the stuy findings include a look at popular social platforms, brands that are winning, and social spending. Overall US spending on social media marketing continues to climb, exceeding $7.5 billion in 2014. Two-thirds of companies surveyed by Adweek report having a dedicated social media team.
