No huge surprise here I suppose as recent research findings reveal that iOS Users Consume 6X More Data Than Blackberry User. They also indicate that Up to 55% of Data is Non-Business Usage, Among Other Findings. The report from Wandera demonstrates the trends that are all simultaneously driving the runaway growth in data usage, while creating an increasing cost and management headache for enterprise mobility teams. The HP All-In-One Workstation – Portable, Powerful, and Sweet – Oh, and Affordable!
So, it may (or may not) surprise you that for the past few weeks I’ve been the happy user of a very sweet, and big, HP Z1 all in one workstation. This is courtesy of some new friends (and old HP fiends from Fort Collins, Colorado) from HP that I made at the ESRIUC last July who so graciously connected me with a demo unit to put through the paces.
For those of you not yet familiar with the “all in one” devices from HP, simply put, the Z1 is a very handy and powerful workstation that comes conveniently bundled in a single piece of hardware. The result is a powerful PC workstation that is fully configurable upon order and all the hardware is squeezed inside a package along with the monitor – the world’s first all in one workstation! Oh, did I mention it has a delicious 27″ screen?

Tablet Roundup – Apple, Microsoft, Nokia All With New Solutions
So, how was your Tablet Tuesday? With Apple, Microsoft and Nokia all announcing new products, including some very cool tablets are you planning on making a switch any time soon? Indeed Apple is killing all the others and dominating the tablet space and there’s no sign of that changing any time soon I’d say. Nokia is trying to chip away at some market-share, however, in all honesty I really don’t see that one going very far but I guess time will tell. The Lumia 2520 windows Tablet is a nice looking piece of hardware but really, how can you possibly compete with Android and iOs in that space? In their defense, the 4G LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity, and 6.7MP camera make it a pretty attractive option – and the red color is a nice touch too! Microsoft has announced the smaller, lighter, and faster Surface2 which is somewhat of a notebook/tablet hybrid and really does chase a different market segment in my mind… no huge numbers for that one in sales either I’m predicting although it is looking pretty good and at $449 not a bad option for the Windoze fans! The Apple products, however, are looking mighty fine as we saw in Apple’s live event.

NOAA printed maps may be replaced by the PDF
An interesting read, albeit not a huge surprise, from myfoxny that touches on the topic of NOAA doing away with printed nautical charts. This from the article… The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Tuesday that to save money, the government will stop turning out the traditional brownish, heavy paper maps after mid-April. See the official announcement from NOAA [PDF]: Effective April 13, 2014, government s tops lithographic printing of NOAA nautical charts.
Could these paper charts be obsolete soon?

Top 10 Tips For Socializing an Event from @guykawasaki
I’ve been a pretty decent fan of Guy Kawasaki for some time now… it likely goes back about 10 or 12 years when I met him at an event in Vancouver. Google Trekkers tasked with capturing images of Florida’s beaches for Google Maps
Soon, people around the world will be able stroll Southwest Florida beaches virtually. It’s coming courtesy of a Google and Visit Florida photo-mapping project that documented Lee and Collier county shorelines last week. The statewide campaign ends with a splash on Miami’s famed South Beach early next month. The end result will be 360-degree panoramic views of Florida beaches — some 825 miles of them — available to Web surfers 24/7. Think Google Street View, in which users see places they are going before they arrive, minus the streets. The photo crews , called trekkers, walk the beaches carrying 15 cameras embedded in a watermelon-size orb perched just above their heads
