Welcome to another Week-End GeoGeek poll.Today my poll is about GISuser TV, something I’ve wanted to roll out for a long time now but have been stalling. Essentially, I’m going to livestream once a week (or ?) for a few minutes, discussing a topic of interest to the GISuser and GeoGeek crowd. I’m offering up a poll to get a better idea of the kind of topics that the community would be interested in hearing me discuss. GISuserTV will be streamed live to our facebook page using uStream technology with the added ability for viewers to share (fb and twitter) and chat with me or with each other. Please pick a topic you think would be cool for me to use or feel free to provide some suggestions. Thanks! FYI, You can check out the GISuserTV Page HERE

Mobile Dev Tip – GIS App on Android For Enterprise Check-in
Rory and the gang at Webmapsolutions in Utah have been busy these past several months developing mobile GIS solutions on various platforms (iOS, Android, BB etc…) in particular, creating solutions for the iPad and other Tablet devices. Recently, they did some work using APIs from Mapquest, this in an effort to exploit checkin capabilities but for an enterprise application. Developer, Rory Biggadike, notes that facility management companies, surveyors, multi-level marketing, insurance claims, pipeline companies, water utilities all have field workers who can benefit from mobile applications. Not only checking in to work sites, but keeping a record of the work done; notes, pictures, video, even voice records. Check out the video Rory has created to show off some of these scenarios and see also more details in this Article… cool stuff!
