Lynn Allen, tech evangelist with Autodesk, today hosted the company’s first official product release rolled out on facebook (facebook.com/Autodesk) using live streaming (facecast) technology. The company used their facebook page to present details of their latest applications and solutions for the Mac user. Amar Hanspal senior VP product solutions made the official announcement(s)
Setting the stage for the news, Allen announced that the Autodesk mobile app has been downloaded 2.5 million times with over 15 million user sessions on mobile devices to review and edit AutoCAD drawings. Additionally, AutoCad for MAC and AutoCAD WS has been a huge success – over 150,000 students already using it (personally, I’m a huge fan of getting the student involved and providing them with cutting edge solutions and apps – well done Autodesk).
The news… 2 major updates/announcements:
- AutoCAD 2012 for the Mac, specifically for the Lion OS
- New AutoCAD WS for the Mac available from iTunes for free (Canada and USA) – AutoCAD WS for Mac is a simple, free* app providing basic, intuitive tools for viewing, editing and sharing designs
Everything just works… (Amar Hanspal) solutions can be downloaded on Thursday
