Rhomobile today announced Rhodes 2.0, the newest version of the industry’s most powerful smartphone app framework. Rhodes 2.0 allows developers to rapidly build native apps for all major smartphones including iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian as well as the iPad. New support for bi-directional audio and video streaming allows developers to easily add live audio and video capture and playback capabilities to their smartphone apps. For example, a developer can add the ability to let a user show their system problem using video or images within an IT helpdesk mobile app. Requestec created an app with Rhodes that allows users to audio and video conference right from their iPhone, Windows Mobile or Android smartphone. The Rhodes framework is free under the MIT License. The Rhodes 2.0 public beta is available today at http://rhomobile.com/beta.

A3 digital camera acquires 5000 sq. km., 15 cm. resolution per day
VisionMap LTD has announced that Aerodata International Surveys, one of Europe’s leading providers of geospatial products and services has deployed two A3 large format cameras and an automatic processing system earlier this year. The camera covers more area each day and the coupled automatic processing system makes it extremely efficient. A3 digital camera is capable of acquiring 5000 sq. km. in 15 cm. resolution per day. The automatic processing system is capable of adjusting, solving and processing full resolution orthophotos of 5,000 square kilometers in less than a week. Seems to me that this kind of technology will be needed along the Gulf Coast shoreline in the coming weeks! See more details HERE
