A New Twitter Dev Resource
Announced today at Chirp (Twitter Dev event) a new home for developers interested in developing with the Twitter APIs – enter http://dev.twitter.com. Launching later today, this resource is where developers will go to get information on the tools and APIs to help build and extend on Twitter. With the addition of new developer tools and new features like metadata and tags, developers will soon have access to many more innovative ways to extract and re-package and share data from Twitter. Go South… Australia Is Facing A Geospatial Shortage
According to an article in IDM, Australia is experiencing a shortage in GIS talent. From the article… Australia is not keeping up with the booming demand for Geospatial professionals, UNSW Professor, Chris Rizos, has told a world surveying congress in Sydney. “Sectors using geospatial technology are exploding,” Professor Rizos said. “It includes satellites, agriculture, climate, disaster response, urban planning, navigation, consumer electronics, telecommunications, environment, mining, manufacturing, construction and global security, to name just a few.”

The CartoPac Tour site, http://tour.cartopac.com, is designed to take a person through the full life cycle of field data collection, including step by step videos to provide a broad overview of the CartoPac technology. The on-line CartoPac Tour includes more than 10 different videos with audio and allows viewers to explore how CartoPac technology integrates with a variety of systems including: ArcMap, ArcGIS Server, and Google Earth. The videos also demonstrate how to deploy data through a desktop or Server environment.
