This is a bit of a Beta test of mine for a very cool application that enables users to create geolocalized audio guides. Imagine an audio clip that is tied to a specific geographic location, then made available to others via QR code or simply via GPS access (ie. when you enter into a fenced area to activate the recording for information). This is my initial test (audio is a little low, sorry as I recorded through a video camera rather than a microphone) but you get the idea… so far I have to consider Woices to be a WOW application! Check out woices.com for more info and test it out for yourself.
IT’s a little tough to identify the “geo” in this demo, however, registered users will see that they can create a walking trail or tour of audio clips that are tagged/tied to specific locations. Using the Woices website you’ll also see your audio clips on a Google maps… definitely an interesting concept that I will archive under the “must find more info” category! Note, Woices also has an iPhone application (free) that I have yet to demo but fully plan on messing with very soon. I’m guessing that the GPS capabilities of the iPhone 3G S will make it very easy to contribute clips to my gelocated account of audio tours.
