Well, I’m glad to finally say that I’m pleased to have an iPhone in my possession… amazing really that I’ve been writing about mobile technologies and LBS for several years now without an iPhone in my toolbox! For years now many of our readers here (and on GISuser, LBSzone, and SymbianOne) likely know me to be the Symbian (or S60) guy… fanatical about all things Symbian. I guess I am a huge fan of the Symbian OS – most recently I’ve been using an N95 8GB, Nokia N97, N96, N82 etc… I’ve also been a user of the very cool HTC G1 (aka. Google phone).
I decided the iPhone 3G S is a “must have” device now that the unit is faster, sports GPS (woohoo), loads of memory (32 GB), and maybe most important, has video capabilities (Geesh, about time Apple!) In order to provide blog content, articles for GISuser and in particular, LBSzone.com, I feel its now about time to have the iPhone in my possession. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been receiving almost daily notices about cool GPS-aware applications and cool LBS services for the iPhone 3G and so now its about time that I’ll be sharing my thoughts, reviews, etc… with first-hand commentary – I’m really looking forward to this. And so, if you have an interesting iPhone application that’s location-aware, please feel free to share details with me. Of note, I’m currently using the iPhone 3G until my 3G S shows up at AT&T later this week.
