Always popular, those “best places” are fun to read and quite interesting. A recent article on Forbes looks at America’s Top 25 Towns To Live Well. What’s quite clever with this article is the mapping provided ZoomProspector. Much of ZoomProspector’s data is viewable on the site’s integrated and interactive online maps, and visitors can quickly do national, county and city searches through a few clicks of the mouse. ZoomProspector is a free to use service, and was recently named as one of the Top 10 Websites of 2009 by Planetizen. Check out ZoomProspector at http://www.zoomprospector.com/ and view data for any community or use the wizard to input your own variables to help locate a great place to live or work. As a test, I did a quick check on Fort Collins, CO. ZoomProspector returned the following:
- most viewed information about the city
- a list of similar cities
- stats on people, demographics, economy and even the number of patents issued locally and amount of local VC infused into the economy… nice!
A tip.. see also http://www.coloradoprospects.com/ for some impressive mapping and data!
