This video via way of Nokia Conversations Team shows the latest technology for Nokia Touch UI devices – the handwriting calculator (Beta Labs). This free application is supported to date by the Nokia N800 and 5800 touch Ui devices… pretty slick! A little sneak peek at what you’ll be able to do with a touch UI. Interesting to note, the Nokia 5800 (touted as a Music device) is also surprisingly rugged. According to Conversations, the device was recently put to the test and was dropped, kicked, and even put through a dishwasher and into a deep freeze… surviving just fine! I might suggest that Nokia consider releasing a more rugged looking version with grippy sides, a cool flat back and yellow casing, and some enterprise applications then push it to enterprise users, perhaps as the 5800 ExTreme!

ezSpace Wall Mount UFO at CES
Once again we’re into a new year and that means CES is just around the corner – this week actually! I was really close to going but had to bail as it simply came up too fast… perhaps next year! For those of you going or thinking of going you’ll be treated to many cool, new innovations in electronics – case in point, how about the funky Wall Mount UFO! This is just one of thousands of items that you’ll see in Vegas at CES.

The ezSpace Wall Mount UFO includes a LED indicator and a reset button on the front. The middle of the ezSpace UFO houses a screw to secure the ezSpace Wall Mount to the outlet, so it will stay in place, even with multiple large transformers plugged in.
