Just in case you don’t have enough blogs bookmarked yet you might wish to check out this new resource developed by Dave Bouwman at http://www.arcexperts.net/. Essentially its been developed using OPML I believe (Dave even offers up a short tutorial on this http://blog.davebouwman.net). The resource indexes weblogs and resources that are focused on ArcInfo, ArcGIS and developing for the ArcGIS platform. Think planetgeo but more focused. FYI, if you want to develop your own aggregation of your favorite blogs I suggest you create a Google account and setup your Google homepage to crawl only your favorite blogs, news sources, flickr streams or ??? You simply add XML or RSS feeds for anything that interest you… pretty simple yet very effective… I have my very own GIS-centric Google home page with all the latest news (from GISuser.com naturally!) and many other cool resources. I can now add ArcExperts to my list of feeds using this url: http://feeds.feedburner.com/arcexperts – FYI, to add GISuser headlines to your Google homepage (or your myYahoo!) simpl add this feed – http://feeds.feedburner.com/GisUsercom

This news item comes from The People’s Daily Online… A new regulation restricting surveying and mapping by foreigners will be implemented in China on March 1. “The regulation will strengthen China’s management of surveying and mapping by foreign organizations and individuals, protect national security, and promote economic and scientific cooperation between China and other countries,” said an official from the State Bureau of Survey and Mapping on Thursday. Apparently, the Chinese law on surveying and mapping states that foreigners must cooperate with a Chinese partner and the activities must not involve state secrets or jeopardize national security. And yet another GIS job site…
Just got wind of this new, BC-based GIS career service — like another one is really needed! Anyway, check out www.GisJobSearch.com .. a decent looking resource although brand-spanking new… we’ll see if this one takes off or not. Personally, with free career posting available at places like the GJC and at GISuser Careers I can’t really udnerstand that there would be a demand for another job site although a Canadian focus may differentiate it from some others… Good Luck to the developer!
