This from a reader… ODT’s 2008 Presidential Election Map allows you to see exactly how and why Barack Obama’s victory was so stunning. This map shows how dramatically the political landscape has been changed especially when mapped out on a USA population map. ODT’s new election map shows how many people live in each state. Each of the map’s grid squares represents 250,000 people. On the map is the exact population of the larger states (for ease of comparison, and to eliminate the need to count individual blocks) along with each state’s electoral votes. The bigger the state on the map, the greater the electoral clout. See here

Electoral vote.com has some great graphics and shows comparisons between this year and 2004 – a must see. Their maps with States colored strong/weak/tied makes things a little clearer than the traditional blue/red themed maps.
I know, its off topic yayaya… Everyone else it talking about it and for those of you, like me, that may have missed the skit on Saturday Night well, here it is – the VP Debate. Hulu indeed provides some fantastic quality video here so if anything, enjoy the fine quality from this service! Source video
Interesting to compare the predictions for the coming election as compared to back in 2004. I fist mentioned these prediction maps several years ago in this article where you can also find some interesting resources that may once again be providing the public with interesting graphics. Kudos to Dave Leip on some fine graphics provided below!
