Microsoft Bing Maps Gets a Huge Imagery update

This update via our friends with the Microsoft Bing team as the service gets another huge update to the imagery archive…  Last month we pushed out our largest amount of new imagery EVER in terms of square kilometers. This month, we’re blowing THAT record out of the water. You thought 1 million+ sq. km. was large? How about 6.7 million square kilometers! The big winners? Aerial: The Russian Federation, Australia, Mexico and most places in the US where we had black and white imagery. Bird’s Eye: Sweden. See Details below. If you want to find out the exact regions of the updates have a look here. For an animated tour visited the Bing Maps World Tour and as always check out Chris Pendleton’s blog.

According to Bing's map of what imagery was updated in February 2010, the entire Western United States was supposedly updated. I zoomed into Santa Barbara, and the imagery on Bing was pre-Tea Fire, which occurred in November 2008, so it seems to me that this area was actually NOT updated!!!
