For those of you ArcGIS users interested in mobile data collection solutions and mobile field apps, there was some pretty cool technology announcements at the 2020 ESRIUC. In particular, Workforce for ArcGIS and the new product offering, Field Apps.

Workforce is included with ArcGIS, and for users inside of your ArcGIS organization, you can use the Workforce web app to create projects that include the definition of work that needs to be completed and the mobile users that will be assigned to complete it. Most recently, the most sought after updates to Workforce support working offline and organizing your content into a project consisting of a single feature layer.
ArcGIS Field Maps is Esri’s new maps app on iOS and Android devices that combines map viewing and markup, field data collection, location tracking, work planning, task management, and turn-by-turn navigation into a single app!
And some good news for those of you waiting for some of the new Esri mobile product releases… according to Esri field apps product lead, Jeff Shaner, the Workforce release is happening Tuesday (tomorrow, Aug 4) and Field Maps beta is currently in full swing with a release planned for the end of September – stay tuned!!
