I’m loving this one and couldn’t agree more that LiDAR and other imagery products indeed make wonderful pieces of art! Recently, at the ILMF event in Denver, CO, GeoDigital recognized this idea through a contest that they hosted – LiDAR as Art. Here’s the concept… The contestants who receive the top 3 vote totals in this “Art with a Purpose” contest have a donation made in their company’s name to the charity of their choice. The voting takes place on line and at a designated trade show.
This ongoing event will run throughout 2012 and will be staged around key LiDAR-related industry events. Submissions are now being accepted for the 2012 American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing – ASPRS Annual Conference which takes place March 19 – 23 in Sacramento, CA.
