Like a few of you out there, I was interested in catching today’s big Apple event via livestream – they’ve done this in years past and it’s been excellent! Unfortunately, this year there’s seems to be a little confusion – thanks “mainstream” tech media for providing a plethora of mis-information, speculation, and basically, a bunch of crap! Over the past 24 hours I’ve seen articles boasting that there is a livestream at 10 AM PST, however, those links tend to link to a magazine’s unofficial “live” coverage from the event (aka. a shameless and self-promotional scum-bag effort to entice you to hang out on their website). I’ve also read that no official livestream will be provided by Apple, and I’ve also heard that the event stream will only be accessible by iOS devices. The most popular link out there seems to be to a uStream for something called Live Coverage of Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” again another confusing un-official resource. Details of this particular resource were rampant yesterday on Twitter, many people thinking this was THE official livestream location – turns out that after watching this channel this morning it’s 3 guys who appear to be streaming from their bedrooms and have manged to lure over 60,000 people to their ustream where you can listen to their pure speculation and rehashing of other geeks speculating!
And so we wait.. ironically my iPhone has pretty much packed it in and as of today I’m seriously considering running out and picking up a Nokia N8 as my next main smartphone device (this regardless of what Apple announces today).
And so, here’s a few useful links I’ve picked up from the popular Tech Rag Huff Post – You can view pictures and live blog coverage at the following sites:
