An interesting idea as ILGISA will be hosting a webinar on Nov 10, 2011 to discuss the recent completion of a three year project locating over 300 thousand addresses in Will County. About the project… This project took into account the current FGDC/NENA address standards. GIS personnel reviewed several data and image resources to verify the accuracy of addresses. After technicians would position the address locations in GIS, specialists would perform quality control tests to insure the updated addresses aligned with existing data in other county databases. These tests included multi-level geocoding, database relations, and python scripts. The final address layer will be maintained by E9-1-1 who can coordinate with emergency and municipal personnel to insure the most accurate data.
The presentation will cover the tasks used in ArcGIS, and the plan to provide an interface for non-county personnel to upload their address information. Event will take place at 12 noon CST – Register online via the ILGISA EventBrite page
