Wow, Nokia is still shaking things up… this time Ovi (http://www.ovi.com)is the victim. This may not be massive news in North America, however, for those familiar with Nokia, this is a pretty big move as the company is reporting that they will be breaking away from the branding of Ovi as we all know it. Recall Ovi is the customer services resource where account holders access such things as maps, music, and the online marketplace. Ovi has been highly criticized by many over the years and now it looks like Nokia has listened.
Via Nokia Conversations we hear that Ovi services will be rebranded as Nokia services in a transition expected to continue into 2012. Starting with first services on some of the new Nokia devices in July and August, Ovi services will be rebranded as Nokia services in a transition expected to continue into 2012. Each of the services under the Ovi umbrella will simply be rebranded as Nokia, with no planned disruption to the service roadmaps. See complete details at Nokia Conversations
