Did you know that Esri regular hosts free, online training? Most recently, Esri’s David Cardella and Patrishia Wells put on a training seminar designed to introduce professionals to the ArcGIS API for iOS. Recall, ArcGIS for iOS is Esri’s first iOS app – a universal app for all iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, itouch) and works with your own GIS data or with data served up via ArcGIS online. The API can be customized using Native Objective C as the coding language and is targeted at the enterprise GIS customer, although pretty much anyone can develop on this platform if desired.
ArcGIS API for iOS lets you build and deploy mobile geographic information system (GIS) applications for iOS devices such as Apple’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. To familiarize you with the API, Esri recently hosted a the free, live training seminar titled Introduction to ArcGIS API for iOS – the session is now archived and available to all. Attendees will learn about the API, hear about developer requirements, and be introduced to areas of the ArcGIS Resource Center where tools can be found.
Note, the next Esri free, online training session from Esri is titled “Making and Sharing Maps with ArcGIS Online” and runs on May 12
