NYS GIS Association has provided details of a training opportunity on Wednesday, March 23rd, from Noon to 1:30 p.m. – Training Webinar: “A Simple Example of Working with LiDAR Data using ArcGIS & 3D Analyst”. Barb and Dave Tewksbury of Hamilton College’s Department of Geosciences will present a webinar on a simple example of working with LiDAR Data using ArcGIS and 3D Analyst. The example comes from an undergraduate GIS course at Hamilton College and uses a portion of a LiDAR data set from the Oneida County Planning Office.
Through a PowerPoint presentation, the webinar will demonstrate how to convert that sample LiDAR data set to an elevation raster in ArcGIS. Attendees will be able to download the data set and the step-by-step instructions to work with after the Webinar. The webinar will use ArcGIS 10, but an ArcGIS 9.3 version of the exercise will also be available.
