A Detailed Look at Twitter Stats From the International Esri User Conference #ESRIUC

Looking even closer at the Twitter usage (see previous post) at the ESRIUC# we found the following interesting stats. Using Summarizr (http://summarizr.labs.eduserv.org.uk/?hashtag=ESRIUC) we examined the ESRIUC stats and found the following:

80% (8000) of the tweets in this Twapper Keeper archive were made by 21% (238) of the twitterers.
The top 10 twitterers account for 17% of the tweets.

Esri Looks at Stats of Tweets from ESRIUC and a tip about TwapperKeeper

An interesting blog post over on the Esri UC Insider blog today takes a look at some of the stats and trends for Twitter usage during the recently held Esri user conference (#ESRIUC). Some cool graphics show the most active tweeters and an archive of tweets from the plenary are also provided. Whats very cool about this is that you or your company can use the very awesome Twapper, analytics tool, to review all the tweets from the week. you can specify a date range (perhaps you are only interested in tweets during a certain session time or ??), you can also search out a hashtag or text string, or take a look at all the tweets from a specific user (like @gletham) . The service also enables you to dump the contents of a query for further analysis.. way cool! Interesting that the app even reveals details of people that have searched out your tweet history (like a competitor that was recently searching out my tweets – likely for ideas and inspiration!!) Bing maps powers facebook Stories

Facebook launched a new app, dubbed Facebook Stories, to highlight shared stories about people who have reconnected with friends and family via Facebook. As a part of the application, Bing Maps powers the location data for published stories. According to Microsoft, the location map provides a visual representation designed to further immerse you into the story, bringing you closer to the town being discussed.

Facebook’s intent with the Facebook Stories app is to celebrate all types of stories and to help you share your story with people around the world. It’s easy to share your story – go to http://stories.facebook.com/, fill out the short form at the bottom and select a theme. When finished, you’ll be able to share your story in the application and with your friends through News Feed. Of interest… Facebook wants your stories. They’re hitting the road on a US tour to meet the people, towns and organizations behind these stories in our first ever Facebook Stories road trip

We met up with Mike Dana, business development manager at Wacom Technology at the 2010 Esri User conference and Mike gave us a close-up look at Wacom’s DTU-2231 interactive pen display.
