SwankyAnts Tells You Whats on Anywhere – new map-based events website
A tip came my way from an old U. Vic colleague of mine regarding a cool, new map-based events website – enter SwankyAnts. This community events web service enables users to browse or add details of events taking place in their community. Events are categorized as being for children, night life, public markets, edu, sports and rec, community, or arts and entertainment.
Some details… The site is usable anywhere but our content so far is focused on the Pacific Northwest (makese sense since the development team is from Victoria, BC, Canada). SwankyAnts builds community through sharing information about events happening close to home. It is a gathering place – a place where people love to come and is the first place they think of when they want to know what’s happening around them. It is their home-place on the Internet. Our success is returned to communities to help build the foundation of safe and healthy places to live.
