Have you checked out details of Google Voice yet? If not you may wish to do so. This is an amazing app that provides you with one number for life! I’m still testing the service, however, to date I’ve found some very cool uses for Google Voice including… using this number to hand out to my website visitors (handy as I don’t want to publicize my personal number), google Voice records and stores messages for me; provides call forwarding along with TXT message alerts… and much more. The app requires an invitation but you can request one by visiting or check out http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html or See www.google.com/voice/m on your mobile – mobile apps available Android and Blackberry

WhereCamp5280 Taking Shape
For those of you interested, WhereCamp5280 is taking shape and ready to roll in a couple of weeks. In a recent update from event organizer, Peter Batty, we hear about the latest plans for this cool “unconference”. From Peter… We have close to 40 people signed up already and various others registered as “interested” – so we think we should have well over 50 and may well be close to 100. As well as a great variety of local geo gurus, we have several distinguished visitors from out of town, including OpenStreetMap Founder Steve Coast, uber geo blogger James Fee, and OSGeo Executive Director Tyler Mitchell.
