A little off-topic Friday fun here (ya I know its not “geo” related but please so hold your comments ;0) I was interested to notice today in a tweet from @EV that he is apparently at the White House as I write this. What’s interesting about this is that @ev is actually Evan Williams, CEO of Twitter. According to his Twitter stream, Evan is indeed in DC today with others and apparently the reason is to discuss the economy – from a Tweet on Thursday March 5 “Going to the White House tomorrow for a meeting about the economy (which must mean they’re *really* out of ideas). What should I tell them?” Interesting to see that President Obama is keeping with his Web2.0 style of brainstorming and incorporating feedback from industry leaders – what’s real interesting though is that Twitter to date still has no apparent business/revenue model – although I’m sure their valuation is rising at a rate faster than the national unemployment figures! What’s struck me as a bit ironic about all this though was the following when I saw Evan’s Tweet, then I clicked through to see his profile and stream and received the familiar “something is technically wrong” error message… too weird! Let’s all hope Evan and the crew at the white house can come up with some innovative ideas.
