I love maps and I love imagery… recall I recently added a historical map of Florida and a cool Landsat Image of Colorado to my collection hanging on the wall. Here’s another fabulous resource I’d like to share with others interested in some fantastic eco-friendly art… “Our Earth as Art” from the NASA serves up some amazing images to users, complete with description and metadata. Browse the collection, click on an image and download a high-res, printer-friendly version of the poster (TIFF), suitable for framing. A large selection of Landsat images and ASTER data are available… see http://earthasart.gsfc.nasa.gov and click on a Continent to start.

Yes indeed, it is much better to give than to receive and our friends over at MIR want to remind everyone about that… also, they are encouraging others to give by offering up some great prizes in return for your generosity… a nice touch to kick off the holiday festivities. The group is encouraging small donations from individuals and companies to a couple of select charities (Childline and the UN Foundation) and will put everyone that donates into a drawing for a number of very cool mobile devices that they have accumulated over the year – See more on Donate to Win here
Indeed it could be an “eholiday” this year although in a different way than ever before. Once company has reported that the impact of facebook, twitter, and other social media resources may have an impact on holiday shopping this year – no doubt it likely will! With a large % of people likely doing some of their holiday shopping online its believed that the surge in social media usage will affect people’s spending habits with people being influenced by conversations on their social websites and even by the usage of widgets, gadgets and mobile apps that are supporting the new resources from the web2.0 space. Indeed it seems that social media can not only influence your business but will likely have an impact on Santa this year! See more in this piece titled Web 2.0 to Impact eHoliday Shopping
