It’s Wednesday and that means another LBSzone Alert was published today – From Today’s LBSzone Alert… To begin, loads of updates out of the Nokia Research camp recently, case in point, just this week Nokia and partners NAVTEQ and UC Berkeley announced a Large Scale Public Pilot project Mobile Millenium) designed to Gather and Analyze Traffic Information Using GPS-Enabled Mobile Devices. The pilot will involve volunteers in Northern California who will collect and study traffic data received from GPS-enabled mobile devices, such as the Nokia N96, Nokia N95 and Nokia E71. The pilot will operate over four to six months and up to 10 000 members of the public community can participate. One issue though is that you have to wonder just how many N95, 96 and E71 users there are in that part of the World? Regardless, this is the future (the NOW in this case) … think user-generated content!
Of interest to users of the popular WHERE mobile app and WHERE widgets, application users can now enjoy WHERE Vision! Think seeing what other users are doing. To view the entire newsletter see HERE
