The S60 WordPress Blogging Client for N95 users
Coming next week… Wavelog has been developed and tested on Nokia N95 mobile phones posting to the WordPress publishing system, both hosted on the wordpress.com and the current stable release available from wordpress.org and hosted with different hosting providers.
About the App… It allows posting of the content as text, image, audio or video, to a Web log (blog) directly from the mobile phone using any type of available network (mobile phone or Wi-Fi network). The application allows saving the work for later posting in the case there is no available network or to allow selection of a network with larger up-link bandwidth (faster posting) or lower cost (for example a free Wi-Fi HotSpot compared to a mobile phone network). Wavelog does not restrict users to a specific blog hosting provider, social network or an intermediate content aggregation. It permits a complete freedom for choosing blog hosting provider or even installing own blog publishing system on the Internet, extranet, intranet, or a local area network. It is designed for performance, scalability and reliability, so it is coded in C++ programming language as a native Symbian OS application. Wavelog does not use any form of usage tracking for targeted advertisement or direct marketing purposes. See http://www.telewaving.com/wp/

GITA Career Fair and Career Shmoozing opportunities
A tip for you recent grads or soon-to-be grads, consider getting a cheap ticket to seattle and take in this year’s GITA conference. It’s always a great place to connect with peers, pass out resumes, and there’s like a job fair and loads of job listings to be found. Simply walk the floor, shake some hands and ask for a job… you’d be surprised. Contact GITA and see about student discounts or even free registration as well… perhaps they could use a volunteer or two for some tasks? Oh, and don’t forget about the 111 technical sessions where you can keep on learning! The event is slated for March 9-12, 2008, at the Washington State Trade & Convention Center in Seattle, Washington. See www.gita.org

Rules to live by…
Indeed we always need rules.. here’s 85 rules to live by (Thanks Tim Oreilly for the tip via twitter) very handy and I really should use number 7 more… “Negotiate – the only way to negotiate with real strength is to have done the homework of creating options that are viable so that you would be willing to walk from your preferred vendor if necessary. Do not bluff.” See 85 rules to live by
